Rental Agreement/Lease in Texas?
My mother is renting from a lady who is now my grandfathers widow. The widow bumped up the rent, after my grandfather died, on my mom making it difficult for her to pay the monthly rent all at once, so my mother will send her $200 a week for 3 weeks and then $75 the 4th week, or $200 for 2 weeks and $275 the 3rd week, regardless the widow is taking payments from my mom. 3 days ago my mom was admitted to the hospital and will be out Friday. The widow was suppose to paint my moms house, so my sister let the widow know that my mom was in the hospital and she isn't at home to let the painters in. The widow replied, "who's paying the rent? When is your mother moving?" It seems after my grandfather died, his widow has been constantly threatening my mother; she is going to get a constable and put her stuff to the curb. She never tells my mom this, she always tells my sister or I via email. But yet she has been accepting these payments and sending receipts. There is a lease between them. Does accepting the payments void the lease? I have tried looking up rental agreement laws, but it is such a tangled web in Texas.

ok my question is kinda long so here it goes. currently i am going to court because of 1 count residental burglary and count !! theift. sorry if spelling is off. i lived with my step father and husband. found out a few months ago the person who robbed our house confessed and had all the items at his house. he stated that he did it as a request for me. the guy who did it was an old friend of my brothers. my case is strong saying that i didnt do it. i am almost 100%sure i will not go down for something i can honestly say i had no part of. anyways my step father is just dragging this case on and on because he is still bitter about my mother passing away and has been taking it out on me for the past 2 years. my wquestion is, when i am found cleared of all charges can i counter sue him for putting me through this stress?

i have been kicked out of every place i have ever lived at since he kicked me out of his house. i was at the time going to classes for my GED and than college and i was on a lease at one poiint and because of all of this i ended up being homeless for 3 months.

never been one for sueing or for fighting with loved ones but he already knows i am not guilty and so does everyone else but he has turned my brother against me and has had him watching me for those 3 months when i was homeless just to get dirt off me to use in court.
to reply to some people, actually it is on my tathers hands because he could at any point say i drop the charges. the only reason i am going through this is because my father has blunlty stated that i robbed our own house.

I have a commerical & residental property for lease.

I am new to renting an apartment and was wondering is there a website or somewhere I could find questions that I should ask before I sign the lease? It is a residential rental and I just want to make sure I get all the info I need. Also I thought there was like a website for finding info about the area you are looking to rent I.E. Safety, School district things like that any ideas wold be helpful.

I signed a Residental Lease agreement on August 14th to move into the home September 1st. The Owner of the home told me that the house was for sale when we talked to them in July but they told me no one has shown interest or gave them a purchase agreement. On August 28th (after I packed up everything and I broke my apartment lease), a day before they were going to let me start moving in, they called and told me they were going to sell the home and not renting. I am furious, is there anything I do for them cancelling the agreement?

I am the managing member of a Holding LLC (Real estate investment). I am wondering is it possible to mortgage residential property under business name and be utilized for the sole purpose of leasing the properties out?

MY husband just started his own business, and now has his truck under the Business Insurance. We live in a Gated Community and they have really dumb rules including "NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES" which his truck IS. So now he has to walk a mile to his truck parked at Foodtown and walk a mile to get back home at night in the dark. Today it was pouring rain and he is really pissed off. Is it possible to do residential plates under your business or do you have to put it on personal insurance only....but then it is not a wright off correct? It really bites, the rules are really ridiculous but we have a year left on our lease and then we will be buying so moving is out of question. Any helpful suggestions??
The Association is Completely Unreasonable. It used to a a 55+ Community and then they allowed Families and The older people are not in love with kids....not even remotely. They Actually HATE THEM, so It has been a on going issue just Playing ball out front ... So the truck being commercial "ITS A RULE" and they have absolutely No exceptions. It is such a tiny little truck to and its in great shape. Its just retarded. If we park in the development it will be a $50 PER DAY FINE. So he is walking until we can figure out what to do. Needless to say he is very ANGRY.

Located in LA, CA - Recently we moved out of our office to new location. We were at the location for 4+ years.

Are the laws regarding security deposit the same as resident rentals? Is it 21 days where landlord have to return the deposit or at least provide a list of items they need to deduct? Over 21 days, they HAVE to return full deposit?

Also I read some CA law that if you rented the place for over 2 years, usually landlord has no deduction for repainting wall due to normal wear and tear, etc. Same apply for office/commercial building?

Landlord doesn't take care of building at all and there's many problems that we kept documentation of throughout our time there. Overall there's no damage from us, only normal wear & tear to the building, but due to previous experiences with landlord - I just want to make sure and prevent any issues that the landlord might try to come up with to keep the deposit.

Any help or can point me in direction for business resources would be great! Thanks!
